Go with the red flames. Will make it heaps faster than a green one while you're waiting to resell...

Original always has wider appeal, I like as original as possible. Looking at TM you can get one for $2500 so resale is not really an issue. Currently there is a surplus of bikes for sale, thanks in part to the road costs, I've got a well priced Thruxton on there and no bites at all.....might keep it and customize it....thats the beauty of bikes at the bottom of their life curve.

Whats the state of the bike at the moment? If it's not totally shit then you might find that you're actually better off leaving it alone when you account for the cost of painting vs its affect on resale down the track. There are umpteen other factors that will affect the resale, but then it's not exactly a bike thats in high demand is it?

If you have to repaint then keep it as close to standard as possible. Or go for the cheapest single colour option in the most popular colours - red or black.

At the end of the day what is the point in fretting over a $1-2k paint job when the difference in resale price is going to be a matter of a few hundred $$$. Get what you like best if you're gonna hold on to it.

Seriously though people are only confirming my own reservations about the flames - so its great to get a reality check.

I have a Honda you can trade it for if you want?

What's the bet it's only Honda pilots who voted for the flamejob?

    I like the retro Green.
I don't think the flames work on "that" particular bike.
I owned a ZR750 myself an they simply are not a "flames" kind of bike.
No matter what flames represent to you,the ZR is just not it.

retro green better.. going for original schemes is always going to help resale..

u do a custom job and ur only doing it to your tastes, everyones taste is different and ull be hard pressed to find someone that wants that model bike in that paint job just like u did..

if ur planning to resell or sell later, keep it as original as possible.. can't go wrong eh, I wouldn't buy a bike if it didnt have original paint scheme, from classic bike to jap plastic, gotta be original and unmolested so I can molest it meself
