Victory Motorcycles?

Hi Bikers, i don`t write a lot ,but log in almost every day. After four (4) years on my Honda Shadow, it is time to upgrade.
I fell in love with the Victory High Ball. I had just a sit on it,never a test ride.
What can you guys tell me about this Brand???

They're made in America. There's probably only one dealer in New Zealand. Girls probably know about them too. A capital b on brand is unnecessary.

They're owned by Polaris in the USA. Brother has one which I've done quite a few miles on. Bigger than a Harley, more grunt, quite a different riding position to my fat bob. Generally more bling than a Harley. Only downsides appear to be servicing and accessory options. Brothers one was serviced by tmg who were victory nz agents at the time. Took a few weeks to get a new air box. Also he had trouble finding a seat for two up. Overall he likes it compared to his fatboy. Personally I prefer my Harley but that's probably more because of it being what I'm used to riding.

Haldanes is now the Victory dealer I think, used to be TMG (who are now Yamaha).

wen they came out, i thought they wer guna be big stuff, now their in a crappy lil store crammed up out in penrose, cant see why any1 would want something like that over a harley, who has ever said anything good about one thats owned one for more than a year

I own an 08 one. Its big, black loud and fast(for a cruiser)...lets see....over Harley? They are just different....from a servicing point of view cheaper. Let me count the ways,

Half an hour to change a drive belt
Gear drive primary
engine oil and tranny oil one and the same (only one oil change)
No pushrods
Mono shock
Doesnt need customising - already come blinged out
Alternator far more accessible if you need to work on it

.............and on and on...........Check youtube for more info, its all thereIve had the Harleys and I would far rather have the V. The downside is that the parts are expensive and the backup in NZ is pretty poor. Ebay is your friend for parts and do your own spanner work. Simple. I know plenty of people with Harleys that are totally fucked off having servicing cost and bad service at the biggest AKL Harley dealer so they are not that much easier to get work done on from a dealer perspective here. Sounds like all that dealer can do is bolt on parts, they dont sound like they have any diagnosis skills or even care about anyone with a bike over 10 years old.
You talk like Harley is the only way to go.....if that was true, how come other manufacturers do alright?????

P.S.....the V store isnt too crash hot...big let down

High Ball slightly harder to steer than the 8 ball

They can be described as being what Harley would be if Harley focused more on innovation rather than renovation. Or you could say Harley focuses on heritage.

But, you may find there is a lower amount of availability in terms of a support network should you need one fixed or need parts. That is something Harley does not have a problem with in this country.

They sound similar to Harley's but they have a slightly different timbre and pitch. They also tend to be reasonably quiet with stock exhausts (but so do new Harleys).

They have a niche following in NZ. Very popular in USA.
