Anyone know anything about the 1983 Suzuki GSX750ES?

I owned one of these for many years. I loved it.

It was really reliable, easy to ride, plenty of power (for me).

The only issue I had was the bearings in the top and bottom of the shockie. They collapsed and cost $110 each (unfortunatley they are not an SKF, Saeco off-the-shelf bearing).

I machine some Black Lurethane to replace the bearings - it worked perfectly.

I sold mine privately for $1750, about 3 years ago. It had a new WOF and 5 or 6 months rego.

92000 miles is a long way. You could probably talk the seller down in price a bit more.

A few more questions: Tyre sizes are 100/90-16 (F) and 120/90-17 (R). Are they common and easy to find/replace?

If the bike has been sitting around for 3 years, should I be wary of the current tyres? Would the rubber have hardened or deteriorated in that time?

i replaced the paws pretty much when i got the bike. with pretty much the same sizes as thems. there were many mix-n-match, (front OR back) in various brands, ended up with battlax bt045 (i think) because they had a matched pair. so no problem with rubber, but might pay to order in to your local in advance to make sure they can get what you want ahead of time.

standing for 3 years - yikes. best bet would be replace them, failing that, crack the beads, do a really good visual all the way around, re fit and fill and take it easy for a few hundy km. then check again.

16fronts are easy to get new in 100 or 110
130/17 rears also which fit good

The seller of the blue GSX750ES has agreed to send the bike for WOF check, so am awaiting the results whenever that is completed.

Maybe.... I like the low seat height and the look of it. Sitting position is a little more forward than I think I might be comfortable or have been used to thus far with but not as bad as pure sports bikes...
