Not surprising Sands is in that. He pimped a desmo MAH deechee thingy as well.

Wish someone would put something like a Vmax engine in a Harley style frame and body work.

    Not my thing otherwise.

    Vmax is a V4 with 200hp
VRod is the best Porsche could do with classic engine (80hp?)

115 or 120hp. I imagine Porsche was used for their great knowledge of water cooled heads? Everyone knows Porsche are more than capable of making mega power motors with ridiculous torque to cc ratings.
That motor has nothing whatsoever to do with the classic Harley shit heaps.

I thought the motor was based of their racing program engine from the 1980/90's? But I suppose I know what you mean - it wasn't exactly production.

It was, yes. But it's still a fat useless sack, but thankfully it's 60degree not 45

The latest Vrods are 124hp standard, not saying you could get it up to 200hp but you could get more than the 124hp.

If I recall.. the vmax 200hp is from the rear wheel.

The Harley (although they no longer advertise HP) are measured straight off the engine. There's some documentary called The Birth of The Vrod, that shows them measuring the HP. It's a lone engine, with plugs and wires hanging off it. No weight or bike to push.

Excellent. Darn shame the factory one does not look like either of those 3. I was so dissapointed when that fat peice of lard was released by Yamaha.

I read the V Rod engine started as a exercise for Buell to replace the sporster but HD nicked it and dumbed it down for the V Rod.

Yamaha Did do that, the origins of the original V max was the (gold wing style) tourer and then the V star V4, 1300cc cruiser.. I belive a few of the old original V max motors have found their way into the V star's

Took 3 google searches to refine it enough to find what you're talking about. They are actually called Royal Stars

    Looks way cool

Now to find one to buy!

Or hope somebody makes another V4 that doesn't look like Vmax

    edit -

But they have less HP than my 750 V4!? Way better brakes though.
