Sweet - this is going well folks. I'm very glad that we are able to help one of our own just a little.

I'll keep this going until next week then close it off and sometimes timely help is more important than bigger help. (if you know what I mean)

$50 for the fishing trip !

(do i have to paddle ?)
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

Jesus Bill - its a kayak, yes you have to paddle.

OK - an update folks and sorry I should have not combined all 3 things together. It got too hard to manage and I lost track.

Now - if anyone donated expecting to get the DVD or the trip let me know and I'll sort it out OK.

I've closed this out as thanks to the generosity of KB members including some generous donations we have raised $400. I transferred that to this persons bank account this morning and they will get a nice surprise tomorrow. Thats going to make a nice change from the shitty surprises this person has been enjoying recently. They have never moaned and groaned about it, just got on with it so this should help move things along.

THANK YOU to those who could help this time.

Folks - all joking aside, this shit is what KB can be about. Life is usually pretty good here in NZ but the fact is there are hard times in everyone's life. Make no mistake, there are hard times out there right now. Communities like ours can play a big part in making life a little better when this happens. Sure - we don't have to wave when we pass another motorcyclist on the road but we should care when our own people hit trouble.

All this started when someone emailed me and alerted me to this issue. It won't be the first time I've done this sort of thing and as much as I'd hope its the last I know it won't be. As it happens Vicki and I are good at raffle baskets and sticking stuff together so if you know of anyone with a genuine emergency speak up.... You never know.

Thanks again people - this place fills me with hope sometimes...

If paddling isn't your thing I'm sure I could organise some quality time with a deck chair and a surf rod......

Just a follow up and a thank you...

I've been in touch with the recipient ;-) Its fair to say they were a bit stunned and this was one direct quote ; "Please can you pass on a huge thankyou to all the people who have helped!! There is still some good left in the world!! "

Folks - When it comes down to it - we have to recognize that sometimes nearly all of us go through a time when all it seems to do is rain shit. Mostly we are able to shrug stuff off but not always and sometimes it just batters you down. Its really important at times like this that we (greater humanity) do something, anything just to hold out a helping hand.

Letting in just the tiniest shaft of light does more to light the darkness than you can imagine.

Thanks KB - There are times when I'm very proud to call myself a motorcyclist...
