haha yeah i had the same issue on my hyo, eventually took all keys off and jsut had the one key in...too late for the head clamp though, all fucked up n shiz
If you buy that R6, the only things you need to check are you life insurance is fully paid up, and I'm the benificary of your will.
From a Hyo to an 08 R6, you are going to die my friend, they are mentally fast. On the upside I imagine it will corner like it's on rails compared to the Hyo.
But seriously, check the original colour scheme for that bike, the black tank was the thing I initially noticed. Would have thought it should be blue.
If the tank is not original then check carefully for signs it's been "down the road", caus the first thing that gets rooted when you crash an R6 is the tank(they stick out past everything else).
Nice bike! (but then I'm biased)
If you can keep your head when all about you are loosing theirs.........it's quite possible you haven't grasped the situation.
They're not that fast, just short shift at 8 instead of wailing on the throttle till the shift light flashes madly... you'd be fine.
At least you're upgrading from a shitter to a nice handling lightweight bike with good tyres and brakes... unlike the shitters we all ended up with that were way more powerful than our learner rides, but heavy with crap tyres and brakes.
ca ke - best of both worlds.
It seems like a weird selection of bits to have replaced if it started out either black or blue, but that's a god awful colour scheme if Yamaha sold it like that.
EDIT:
I can't see why anyone in their right mind would "mix the fairings" and then sell the bike like that. Unless he binned the other one so couldn't change them back but it's still a strange story.Originally Posted by Tardme

*sigh* really wanted it too
No stress, plenty more bikes where that came from. Better to find out that Kyle is a lying piece of shit now than later.
phew close call!
trademes getting tough I recon, such a hassle I can't seem to buy anything legit without seeing it first before handing money over. otherwise its always in worse cond than described. curse 'em. So I only buy local now with cash on pick up. its a shame, miss out on some cool looking sh*t (prob all f*cked anyway)
Granted bikes do fall over and/or lowslide sometimes but if a bikes been down would you stay well away would it not make a difference.
I crashed my hyo not long before I sold it but was fully repaired by insurance so everything was new and straight etc.
crashed and ride my own bikes eh... but when u crash it urself at least u know what happened. blades been down 2 or 3 times now. she still looks all good and rides well. old bike too.
but i wouldnt be paying as much for a crash repair bike as i would for a mint from new..
Only use credit as a FINAL option, if there is another option such as the olds use it and probably save 2-3k.
I did that earlier this year when I upgraded, they were a bit grudging but I explained the situation they thought they may as well.
Financing it may seem like a good idea at the time, but unless you have a decent 40hour week job etc. it is a bit of a chore.
