    Thumbs up Parking hassle resolved

So, update on the parking issue...having contested the breach notice and awaiting a response, received a letter from parking Ning Nongz with notification that the fine has been waived in full. YEAY thank gawd somebody processing the contest notice has got sense. Won't be tempting fate and parking in their bloody clear spaces thats for sure. So, somewhat happy camper. My thanks to all who offered up their 2 cents and suggestions...bloody legends.

Don't. Put it in the Civic. Last exit 3AM Fri night / Sat morn. Free for bikes.

Don't want to start a whole new thread to ask this, so does anyone know what the rules are in regards to parking in the free motorcycle parking for longer than the displayed time after 6pm? In particular, the one on Fort St, it's marked as 180 mins.

As of right now you can park in pay and display spots in a car after 6pm for no charge, until around 7am I think. Does that apply for the free motorcycle parks too, in the sense that you won't get a ticket parking there for longer than 180 after 6?

Unless the sign gives times the road code contains the rules.

Any idea what this is off the top of your head?

At work and don't have mine with me and was needing to perhaps use a park over the time limit tonight.

Not a fan of the NZTA site search function, you need someone like scuba for that. Basically unless the sign says otherwise all parking restrictions cease and desist after 1800 and at weekends, unless they have a red border it seems. OK so I did manage the NZTA site

Maakz, I'd be interested in seeing the wording of your contest statement. Might be handy for fellow victims out there

So, I take it, parking on the footpath, as I used to do before I left, is no longer an option in white old Auckland town! They are chasing the bucks and fuck the populace, just like here in Perth!......

It is an old post but the thread has been bumped. Unless the sign says otherwise parking restrictions are from 8am to 6pm seven days a week except public holidays. The link you posted was correct, what you said wasn't. The link you really need is here - Traffic Control Devices Manual. You want Part 13 for Parking control.

Please let me know when and where you are next parking your bike in town and what time the movie starts. I always fancied a Street Triple.
