I fitted a set of Hepco Becker hard bags to my Mk2 last week, got them off a 1000SP I bought a while ago and they are the best period luggage I have come across so far (even better than 70's and 80's BMW ones). Also robbed the seat/tank/top clamp and bars off it to make a very comfy LeMans tourer, may even ride it to the rally.

Yeah but a flash 30ah battery costs about what the bikes worth Ed...... Yes - it might be 'worth it' but couple it up with the other costs of recommissioning and registering it and I'd be better off setting fire to it in the back yard.

    Expensive business old italian bikes....

DeMyer's Laws - an argument that consists primarily of rambling quotes isn't worth bothering with.

    It weighs 500kg. Wouldn't notice 5kg.

Yes - but only a real cad would ever accuse a gracious Italian lady of being fat Jim.... (but this one is definitely been eating too much pasta)

I was wheeling the beast around the shed thinking fark this things a lump.... Pumping up the tyres helped that a bit ... I have been for a few quick spins between refettling and I think the front springs are now way too stiff without the clipons putting weight up front. Should be OK with luggage though.

I'll finish the recommissioning and see if I fall back in love but so far shes running really nice...

Be keen to see that - post up a picture...

If I was going to change stuff I'd be sticking a V7 Sport seat / guard on it and pulling all the fairings. Hey - if I win Lotto I still might...

Back to my bloody Moto Guzzi problem...

Talked to the ChCh repairers today..
They said to do an odo test (I can calibrate it with a point to point on the GPz400) and go from there.
Reckon the pointer might be calibrated incorrectly as it runs independent of the odo.
The odo is gear driven (what sheared originally) from the pointer.

I've checked to ensure that the cable isn't slipping as it locks into the bevel okay.

    Fun stuff
