    Poor technique firstly.
secondly, his peg scraped - the peg scraping had nothing to do with the accident, when the peg touched, he got scared, and took his hand off the inside bar, but still had pressure on the outside bar, this caused the front to go all wobbly, before tucking, momentarily lowsiding, over correcting into the scrub on the roadside, and eventually dropping it.

If his hands had stayed on the bars, he would have been sweet as.

At about 21 sec he appears to be pulling on the inside bar before anything touches. Something from his foot back (peg maybe)
scrapes and rest is as viewed

Looks to me like he ran out of ground clearance. You can hear a scraping noise just before hand. You then see a puff of smoke come from the rear tyre (presumably as it gets lifted up and looses grip). The bike goes to tip in as a result, and I guess just like a human does when they fall in, he put his hand out to "hold up" the bike.

It then looks like the bike slowed down, and the weight came back onto the tyres as the bike stood up (which is what happens when you dump speed in a corner), regained grip, but by then he had lost control.

    Hahaha...what a chump.
Nail your colours to the mast that all may look upon them and know who you are.

Such a bizarre reaction though, to put your hand down. Don't think my instincts would have ever driven me to do that in that circumstance.

Well that is something that I have never done, taken my hand off the throttle

But I have had to override my instincts at times and twist the throttle a little bit more (doesn't need much)

Takes a lot of guts to twist it. And not balls, as I don't have any

    Safe riding

    I have a theory.

I think the front end went and he thought it was going for a low side so he bailed but it grabed and regained sending the back around. At that stage his hand was already off ready for a fall. More by instinct.
