I have recently moved back North after seven years in the Waikato. A lot of Awesome backroads around Cambridge, Matamata and Morrinsville. Just watch out for tractors and farmers moving stock. The Okoroire Pub is a good place to visit on a nice weekend. Motorcycle friendly Pub and they make good food

Or drop down the western side of Putaruru and Tokoroa to Whakamaru and down the Western Access to Ti Hoi, nice burgers in their garden bar.

Or head east over to Ngongotaha and around the top of Lake Rotorua and then over Hwy 30 around the Lakes and passed Kawerau and on to Whakatane, the best fish and chips at Wallys on the Wharf - have the lemon pepper on your fish. You can then come home along the coast through Matata, Te Puke and over the Kaimais.

Then there's the lap out to Paeroa, east through the Karangahake Gorge to Waihi, up through Whangamata to Hikuwai, left onto the Hikuwai-Kopu Road (SH25A) and then home through Paeroa again.

Some of the best riding roads in the region are to the west of SH1, Raglan and Kawhia are good rides. Try finding the Blueberry Cafe just out of Cambridge, good spot to stop off for lunch or afternoon tea on your way home from somewhere.

Next time you wanna go ride, drop me a PM and I'll see if I can accompany you - depending on availability of gas money mostly. Currently unemployed, so time rich and gas money poor.

Yeah I am definitely getting around, but job up here I have been doing for last 9 months is covering a lady on maternity leave.... So unless I want to go backwards I had to move where there was an opportunity and Cambridge came up.

Works out well for me, closer to the race tracks, nice area where I haven't lived before, closer enough to Tauranga to catch up with everyone and Oko just round the corner, but enough new roads to ride and areas to explore also. So all in all win win...
