    I still have a learners.
Rode a 250 for 4 months, decided it was lame.
Went to a 600. Started doing trackdays right away.
Thought about doing restricted, couldn't be bothered. Would still just have been stuck on a 250.
Year of trackdays and test days later, got a Fireblade. Turned 600 into a trackbike.
Got sick of riding on the road. Sold Fireblade.
    Turned 600 into a racebike.
Now just race, no more road riding. Every now and then on friends bikes.

In the 2/3 years I've been riding, clocked up masses of speeding fines. No crashes.
Never even tried to get knee down on the road or anything dumb like that, just always was cruising at 130 or so.

I guess the moral of the story is LAMS is good, and should stop people like me becoming frustrated with the licensing.
Maybe a race license exemption would have been a good idea with the CC limit.

    Anyway, just random thoughts :-)

Thats a problem right there, 1stly if he wants to fuck him self up should there be a crash it should be his own right, not dictated that he shall be forced to "protect" himself & 2ndly how does a fine change anything? it's his job that has him forgetting the seatbelt so surely just a reminder would suffice... but then where would the donut fund come from ... as you were.

I mean bikes should only have learners -> full, you're either learning or you know, restricted is just a money grab
& I'm driving a vehicle that should be above my licence grade but the Govt's fucked round with weight limits so much just so people can drive their SUV's & tourist's can cruise round in campers that I'm able to drive it on class 1. It's a worry knowing that the 80% that can't operate cars properly are also able to hop into something of similar size/weight on their class 1's too, they're not as forgiving as cars & cause alot more damage when shit goes wrong.

The law isn't just to protect dumbarses from themselves but also honest folk from the dumbarse decisions that these dumbarses make.

Anyone that doesn't like it should just fuck off to somewhere like Somalia where they can do whatever the fuck they want....but not too fast though. As long as these dumbarses keep paying stupid tax to the police then that's less money us honest folk have to pay.

Keep up the good work rastuscat!

Perhaps I am misunderstanding what your issue was but WOFs are dated from the day they are issued not the due date on the old WOF. So if you get your WOF a week early you don't get 6months + 1 week you get 6 months from that date. They didn't rip you off two days.

They date them forward if you are within 2wks (iirc) of the due date. This is to give people a buffer to get them, without feeling ripped of for doing so early.

And should he "Fuck himself up" ... it's the other tax-payers that forks out for medical costs to let him get on with his life.

The fine is a contribution to the slush-fund, that is the financial base of the great nation we live in ... he will remember the fine. Actually learning from it is another matter ...

There is a big difference in licence classes 1 & 6. And the skills required to operate them safely differ greatly. Just as the difference in skills needed to ride small and large motorcycles.

Perhaps an extra class of licence added to class 6 to operate large capacity motorcycles .... on a higher power/weight ratio ... ??? To show you have the ability/slills to operate them ... safely.
