    RGV Speedo

    Hey Guys,

I've been lurking around these forums for a while now but haven't said much because I haven't had a bike worthy enough to call myself a Kiwi Biker until now.

My new baby (a '92 RGV250) is on it's way up from Christchurch and should be here any day now!! Can't wait.

Anyway... I was wondering if anyone knew how hard it would be to replace the standard instrument cluster with one from an RS250....

I can modify the mounts etc my only concern is how much the electrics differ... The other stumbling block that I can think of is I've been told the RS250 doesn't use a standard mechanical speedo cable, apparently they use a magnetic sensor in the back wheel... Can anyone confirm this? If anyone has experience with the RS I'd be keen to know if it's a magnetic attached to the rim or if it's built into the rim itself...

    Thanks,

    M.

I don't have anything helpful to say

    But why change the instruments?

    .

Or buy a watch from the $2 Shop or The Warehouse, take off the straps, and sticky-velro-dot it onto your instruments/steering head.

Nah hah, the 89 versions had problems with the p/v, I know, I owned one and suffered the same problem.
