    Westie biker stabbed?

just saw this on stuff.. anyone know anything about it?

    http://www.stuff.co.nz/stuff/0,2106,3367127a11,00.html

A West Auckland man was stabbed in the neck while investigating someone apparently interfering with his motorcycle early today.

The victim was taken to Auckland Hospital for treatment to his injuries which were not considered serious as the offender fled.

Police said that the victim went out of his Te Atatu home about 3am after hearing a noise and found a man apparently interfering with his motorcycle.

He challenged the man, who stabbed him in the neck and fled the scene.

The offender was described as a male Maori, aged in 30s, of stocky build, with facial stubble. He was about 167cm tall.

fuk, that's terrible.. just can't have anything nice without some twot wanting some of it..

    Bit confused about this bit:
'his injuries which were not considered serious as the offender fled'
So if he hadn't have fled, his injuries could be considered serious..??

replace "as the offerder left" with "at the time the offender left".... it makes more sense.

Still a bloody nasty thing. Hope they catch this dickhead and put him in solitary for a week... poor baby might have to go cold turkey as a way of giving up his addition... instead of stealing to feed the thing.

Pisses me right off this does...!

Maybe they are saying that if the injuries weren't serious, then the offender would have hung around to make sure he was ok, and to take him to the hospital if necessary . . .

Wolf, long way to go mate, before you can imitate G.O.D. (the Grand Oral Disseminator). It's not the punctuation of the sentance, it's the context of which it's constructed.

Actually, the thing that confuses me about this (mentally inserting commas to make sense of it) is that the victim was taken to hospital as the offender fled.

Now what this says to me is that either the Emergency services are really efficient in West Auckland or the offender was fleeing for one hell of a long time - probably would have run to Albany by the time his victim got to hospital.

Surely the poor bugger was taken to hospital some time after the offender fled?

Seriously tho'. What happened is disgusting. The offender is a filthy coward and if he gets caught i hope they prosecute for attempted murder - he did, after all, stab a bloke in the throat which has potentially lethal consequences. I'd be pushing to do him for attempted murder.

He could have just run, instead he plunged a weapon of some description - knife, screwdriver, warding file, who knows what - into a vital part of another person's anatomy. He was trying to kill the bloke, pure and simple. His jail time should reflect that.

edit: Finished writing this then saw MSTRS's masterpiece...
