If I hadn't have just purchased the SR500, I would've got my hands on that KX!

Hopefully only a few weeks mate. Found a genuine SR500 engine for it too by the looks (it has an SR250 engine in it right now) and a right radiator shroud, which was letting it down.

I'd love to own 'em both having owned several KX500's in the past mate. But I have no money to do so! I'm guessing around 6-7k ea as reserve. To me...they're worth no more than that right now.

it was not them that killed 500's, no one brought them, Suzuki stopped in about 84, Yamaha in 89, Honda in 2001 and Kawi in 2004, as much as they are loved, no one brought them,

even in 2004, when it was advertised that the last ones where going to be made, only 12 KX500's were sold in NZ, nearly 10 x that KX250F's were sold that year

Not just the 500s, but the 250cc and 125cc 2 stroke market is almost dead with the Japanese bikes.
