Ducati Desmosedici, collectable yet?

Hypothetically, if one could buy a Desmosedici with under 1000kms on it for under NZ$70,000, would this be a good investment? How long, if ever, before they get desirable dya rekn??

Investment or not investment, depreciation or profit, I think it's still desireable bike either way.

Agreed with EJK and Im not sure about investment but it'll be a fun bike to ride..

I reckon the Panigale is better looking and would probably outperform it on the track too.
(I say probably but I'd like to see a comparison for real)

Well, if you can arrange a test ride for both of them for me, I will happily give you my opinion on which is better (and sounds better)

Just to keep it real, I'm not going to buy it, but here in Dubai There is one on the market, never been registered, not raced, so it would only be sensible to keep it that way in an investment sense. I'm sure if I owned it, the lure of riding it now and then would be too much to resist!
The other comment I'd make is that the Desmo was made in limited numbers. Every man and his dog will buy a Panigale, who'd blame them? Ergo the Sedici will be the better investment, albeit twice the price.

I think they have about a 5000k warranty from Ducati regardless of age so if its done less than that and remains less than that it wouldnt be a bad investment. would look great in the lounge

If a rich guy who doesnt know how to ride a motorbike buys one of them as an investment or for luxury ( for his lunge )then that could work for him but If someone who knows how to ride a bike and buys it for a lounge then I suppose there's something wrong with that person cos If it were me I'd ride it and then store it in my lounge. All the ones I know of in Perth are regularly ridden on the roads - except in mid summer when the riders can't stand the exhaust heat burns on their legs.....

With the D16rr its a reversal of the norm where the aftermarket pipes are a cooler set up than the stock ones

Its not a ground breaking bike, the gp bike was shit, frame too stiff, weight to far forward, it was fast in a straight line when it first raced though.The RC51 in 2000 made more of an impact.

Haha, EJK is onto it . As for the desmo, had a sit on one with the race pipes once, even got to rev it! Beautiful sound. The owner shot up and down past the shop to give us a demo of what it sounded like on the go, sounds real nice. Looks beaut and would handle amazing. I'd still rather have five bikes than the one expensive one.
