Something for an aspiring Waikato rider perhaps? Dino?, trade the Red machine Honda in mate for another red machine Husqvarna....

naa mate i couldnt afford a gear box rebuild and its around the klms where some of them shit themselves, ive got no reason to part with the XR it does everything i need and some, plus it wouldnt be an upgrade from my point of view it would just be another bill.

Even if you didn't make it all the way from Pouto to Glinks on the first attempt, you could check out the Pouto end at low tide to see if it would be feasible.

Since it's about 200 km from Auckland to Pouto, this is something that you wouldn't want to do in a single day. (It would be a big day out.)

Any thoughts? (Probably better for the warmer months ahead...)

Was up there about a month ago pretty much on a road ride and tide was wrong, got about 5ks around the beach at mid tide but it would be a sinch at low tide, awesome ride if you appreciate the tar twisties and old world scenery but would be a bit much for these Wiakato dudes.

Kenda big block (front) is starting to bed in now (didn't like it at first on the road) but I'm pretty sure it saved me a few times on the so called big bike friendly wet forest tracks

Yer, I counted to about 50 and got bored

, it was like being in a cool biker gang when arriving into the townships

Good ride and that should scratch my riding itch for about a month now

Scenery was cool to though I hardly noticed

They are the ones with all the money to buy those bikes.

Would have rather the group was about half that size as its almost impossible to pass them all before the next check point when its your turn to be corner man (or so one of the other guys said

In regard to KT and the chook chasers, it was harder than usual due to the slightly slippery forest trails, had a close call at the beginning of ride when MT90 rear cried enough and took the Big block Kender front along for the ride, near tried to snap my leg off trying to keep it all upright so felt discretion was needed after that

, though we did come good once things got drier.

I can see now why you guys ride those little bikes in these tighter damp conditions (most likely will be letting the DR loose with its Kenda trackmaster next time to save my legs and a bit of pride)
