Thanks for that. I'll check the roads out (cautiously) at some point.[/QUOTE

Or on pancake run the following weekend![]()
giveing thompsons a miss, more rain forecasted(thunder storm) looks like the fun factors turning to hard work and no fun

Took the wife (new to motorcycling) up the Whatawhata side of Old Mountain road yesterday (Friday Morning), she didn't like the idea of the gravel after I told her that one day we would fall off together, probably on gravel or dirt... convinced her to try some anyway, she enjoyed it. Its a good view of Hamilton from the top on a nice day. Had to show her the purpose of riding the bumpy gravel & dirt tracks is to see stuff & places you wouldn't normally get the chance to.![]()
nice one Mike, better watch out mate if she gets into it you wont be able to go anywhere with out her
she should enjoy the te akau coast rd up to the nikau cafe for lunch, lots of lovely veiws with easy gravel.

I'm fully booked this weekend, but would've been keen.
No much work on today so might sneek out after lunch today.
Too easterly and light for hang gliding this Saturday, so I am thinking about approaching Muriwai vai Rimmers Road and riding down the beach. Low tide at Muriwai is 9:19 a.m., which means an early morning departure from Auckland (8:00-ish?), but the chance of a cafe break at Muriwai and home for lunch. (Lunch at home will pay for the gas).
I've never been in the sand before, so this could be a hoot.
We could meet at the T-intersection of Rimmers Road and Selwyn Road at 8:30 on Saturday, unless anyone knows a better place to meet.
Feel free to jump in with suggestions....
Shit doesn't just happen; there's usually an arsehole involved.
Kumeu Bp (on the left just before you get into Kumeu is good common meeting point for all coming from the South, I usually ride past there most Sat Mornings at about that time (815ish) on my way to beach anyway (some company would be cool)
Not sure if KTM is tired well enough to get on at Rimmers(DR still in workshop
) but surpose you could all push
Personally I get great satisfaction from doing the whole length of the beach and generally get on at Muriwai golf course entrance but will go with the crowd
