Not saying it's not possible, but to come on here and proclaim to be able to see off most guys on sportbikes is a little big headed.

The op was about how long would you stay behind a car on the road,. expand that to how long do you stay behind the bike in front of you when, for example, the Akaroa highway, when you know without any effort you can travel on you old bike so much quicker than the rossi clad fella on the modern sports bike who is going that fucking slow its frustrating.
Another rider and I followed a 1000cc green thing up that hill, he was in full racing gear, and basically a new sports bike,
I was on my 1100, and the other rider was on a DR650, we both passed him without effort. Was that wrong?
Ahh, but then I guess egos can be deflated when a rider on something considered old or crap out rides better machinery, not better riders.
Heaps of rides I have been on, and have followed sport bikes, there is no way I can keep up without going outside the boundaries of control, skill, ability of the bike,and still be inside that safe zone. I dont need to prove anything to anyone.
Yet I do find myself passing quite often, riders on better machinery than mine, with in the realms of the law and safety, why? "cause I can'

But ok, point taken. And I agree and have said myself that too many people buy bikes that are too much and go slower than before. There's many people on here that have had their ass handed to them by a certain bloke on a RG150 on 1000 sprotbikes.

Happy to follow someone at 115kph all day bearing in mind the 'first in line, pays the fine' rule (which is all well and good until the fine allocators come up from behind you).

Since getting the Honda I find I can't follow anything for long at all, whether they're sitting on 100kmp/h or not. I did actually manage to follow a nice purple holden with a personalized plate for a while heading south on the motorway. I eventually did pass it however and when fueling up at the lonely ol mobil halfway to Thames he passed me. Didn't take long to catch up and repass him muahahah
