had a primo ride over to Akaroa today awesome weather and sticky roads and not to many douche bags on the road and only
seen 1 bike cop and luckily i was being a good boy and taking it easy heading towards lil river.. gotta love days like today.. ;-)
Day off today. Going for a ride. But not near SH75. No sense poking the bear.
Sorry dude.
Most folk who ride bikes without a bike licence do so coz they haven't taken the time to get one. We write the ticket, and give them time to get the licence. If they do, we cancel the fine.
Nothing exciting about that. They just plain old can't be arsed. It's an excellent example of the problem with making it hard to get a licence. If it's perceived as too much trouble, people just won't bother.
Missed the question, sorry about the delay.
Thats seems very very sensible. Safe drivers, safe roads, safe vehicles. Its always seemed silly to me to catch someone without a licence and then burden them with fines and demerits and disqualifications so they can't get one. Sort of seems counter productive to me. Good policing I think.

Wished you had been on the Birdlings flat straight at about 3pm, A Nissan something, traveling so slow that even the vintage cars were all overtaking it, Talk about a road hazard! Behind the wheel was Steptoe, and in the passengers seat I swore I saw, Maggy Thatcher.
To be old and wise, first you must be young and stupid.
Those vintage Bentleys (?) were pretty cool chugging away up the hill, saw us behind and pulled over enough to let us pass.
Saw em again on the way back - nice .
Mental note tho, when a cruise ship is in the harbour there WILL be lots of buses to-ing and fro-ing
between Ch Ch and Akkas.
From the Press website today
A 67-year-old man is in a "comfortable" condition after a serious crash last night.
The motorcyclist was airlifted to Christchurch Hospital after crashing on the Christchurch-Akaroa Rd.
A police spokesman said the man came off the road and hit a fence near Duvauchelle just before 7.30pm.
He was conscious at the scene but was taken to hospital by the Westpac rescue helicopter.
A Christchurch Hospital spokeswoman confirmed this morning the man was now in a "comfortable condition"
Not one of ours I hope.
Grow older but never grow up
