You're speed is allowed to creep up on those straights you talk about. It's allowed to creep up to 109kph, and it would only creep that far if you were cruising at 100.

So, what did you drop yesterday? Nothing too expensive I hope.

Like his uniform but leave him at home.
I don't agree with Berries. You probably did more good with the chat than the ticket, especially a speed scamera one anyhow. The stop is the oh shit moment and then there is thinking over what was said. A ticket can be excused as just a scam. But if the poppo has been more than reasonable sooner or later, maybe over a beer or coffee a few days later when retelling the story, you have to analysis what was said and can't write the popo off a just a bunch of tax collects. This in turn may mean one of the bikers or their mates steps up to assist the cop in the bar fight or at least doesn't show disrespect.

Thanks for the history lesson Rastus. It was a genuine inquiry, as I've heard the tolerance limit being thrown around, but never really understood the hell was the point. There are no speed cameras back home, so there was never any official tolerance. There was a held belief that you were OK so long as you were going no more then 4 mph over the speed limit. Old habits die hard, and so I tend to stick to 5 kph over the speed limit or less.

It's good to know that you can be pulled over for as much as 1kph over. I always figured that the officially endorsed "tolerance" meant that so long as you stuck to within the tolerance you were sweet. Very good to know.

    Cheers for that.

The irionic thing about it is op Mataki is about getting the crash rate down, I was doing everything legal yet it still happens so Im not sure Mataki will achieve much, its the nature of the beast in them there hills.

Whether you were doing everything legal isn't really relevant

Not a loss of concentration because you'd dialled it back a tad perhaps?
I've made a big effort over the last three weeks to leave home earlier so I'm not constantly 3 or 4 minutes late for work (because I had to growl at someone for being constantly 10 minutes late). Anyhow I noticed really quickly that because I no longer needed to push the envelope I had more time to relax, look around and enjoy the trip ... and I nearly came to grief about three times that first week because I wasn't concentrating on the ride at the normal level. I've made the necessary attitude adjustment now so the last week was fine ... but I did find it interesting that lowering my speed and 'creativity' had a negative effect initially.

Ya know what, I did think of that, in fact just before reading your post I sent a PM away saying maybe I wasnt as tuned in as I might normally be, cos I was more laid back... hey look I dont like looking for excuses, only one at fult here is me, like above quote to Kickaha, but all I can come up with is a at least 5yr old tyre sudenly woken up worn in but stickeless, that and the owner put 36psi in it, 2psi more than I would have considering the days temp, either way i trashed the very last V2 Tuono to come off the production line <--- thats me
    cheers DD
