If I had written the ticket for 106, the charge would have been Exceeding 100 kmh. $30 and some demerits, 10 I think.

If the 106 had been dangerous, the charge would have been Dangerous Driving. Court appearance, mandatory disqualification, yada yada yada.

The charge of speeding simplicitous is a charge of simply driving at a speed in excess of an arbitrarily set limit.

did anybody see that road pleece show from Straya on the telly (maybe last nigtht?) Guy on a black Speed Trip gets pulled over, 134 in a 100. He didnt have to walk home but he got a 3 month DQ, and big fine ($600?) Plus he had to undo some mods to it: It had a Yoshi pipe and some other things and the popo gave hime a defect notice.

Not cool. Plus those popo carry guns: here, all they'll do is beat you with an empty donut box. There they'll shoot you in the FACE.

What got me on that program was the po po riding the bikes were to look at wearing normal longs and short sleve shirts doing what speeds?.

The guy on the triumph at least was wearing full gear (not that im saying anything about ATGATT or it was ok to speed).

Do the mc police wear anything more protective tha the aussies rustacat??.

I guess those discretionary powers the police have ... worked in the guys favour in this case. Perhaps (more importantly) he passed the attitude test too ...

Those that rely on a 4/10 km tolerance to keep themselves ticket free (on this particular road anyway) ... may be in for a surprise.

a decent lawyer (I am an indecent lawyer) might be more successful in arguing in front of a Judge that 106 in a 100 is is not (in all the circumstances of the alleged offence) dangerous: cost: lawyer time, time off for court case, (for the defendant and the popo): worst case scenario: you go down for what you said: best case scenario: walk away clean. Whereas a punter will just pay the velocity tax for a speeding infringement.

You can be charged for dangerous at 90 km's ... in which case, speed is not the issue in a dangerous charge.
