Operation Mataki - SH75 to Akaroa

Did my usual Sunday morning ride over to Akaroa this Sunday, must have been the worst trip in about 4 years, cars not moving over on the passing lanes causing others to try to pass up the inside, and I mean cars here not bikes, seemed to be Akaroa's national drive stupid day.
I do not think I will be going over there for Sunday breakfast in the near future.

and anyway i was out that way yesterday for a nice slow ride and didnt see not a single piggy anywhere, none parked up in lil river lots of bikes, but no cops,
so got me thinking this whole Akaroa gp blitz thing could be all hyped up to get people talking,... cause come on primo day like yesterday and the start of daylight savings you'd think they would be out doing their job.. but no ..

The weekend Popo spent several hours on 75 on Saturday, fecking near got blown off the road. Several interactions, nil tickets.

He called in crook on Sunday. So no Popo. It was a Popo free zone, my team anyway. Can't speak for the Highway guys.

This weekend there's another Popo who usually rides 75 on his own bike, so he knows the tricks out there.

A propaganda war........hey, it started a discussion.......but we love getting paid to ride nice bikes out there so expect to keep seeing us.

How have the stats been the last couple of weekends RC? Has there been any discernible changes to the behaviour of those using SH75 following the tickets/warnings/discussions that have taken place?

The warning approach and my take on it...

I'm not great at keeping my vehicles legit. Usually prefer to take the risk as it works out cheaper...Until just the other day. I got warnings for two instances in different diesel cars.

Long story short, I don't have to pay the equivalent of a brand new gixxer six, and my cars are all legal.

Bike...Well, I'm working on it.

well yet again its been a nice kick arse sunday for a ride, went to akaroa and back thru the bays and didnt see a single copper..
not that im complaining or anything but the last few times iv headed over that way i thought id see at least one.. but im happy to say not.!!

so fingers crossed they find better things to do than hang out in the good riding spots tryin to wreck bikers days by dishing out tickets.

If your only contact with them is during a roadside stop ... you would be likely to have a low opinion of them. Your problem ... and really easy to sort. Behave yourself. Then most of them would be more friendly towards you.

I'm on leave just now, renovating our new house. New bike arriving for me on Tuesday, life is good.

Not sure if the guys have been out there while I'm away. Dont worry, its not forgotten.

Remember that weekend when I caught the lad who did 178 on the R6? I'll be posting the video, now that I have a version of it with his ID hidden.
