you think I am a good example of an average citizen?!?

my behavior to ward them is always impeccable.

my attitude regarding societal rules and police is one of "keep the fuck out of my way and i wont go to any effort to make your life difficult", this is also true of.. well. everyone else.

no. i don't believe your comment is self explanatory.
i certainly don't thank cops. but you've imply that they should be by saying that they aren't.
so. who should be thanking the cops. and for what?

Actually it surprises me that Drew is so willing to sit behind a vehicle doing 90 or less with its driver thinking they are doing 100 and determined to ensure that bloody biker doesn't break the law, not that Drew would This is the effect of the lack of tolerance and advertising.

Its thankless mostly, for example; a lot of the time EVERYBODY think THEIR problem should be getting attention over everything else, they want 100% of the time spent on THEIR problem, 24/7 if need be.

But I love my job, thankless or not...

and yet another AWESOME day for a Akaroa ride and not a cop to be seen. and the road was full of bikes...
but the thought of a cop sitting and waiting somewhere with his lil speed gun did slow me down, so their sneaky plan does work.

So you have a 600? or a 1000? and you're riding it at roughly 1/3 it's potential? sounds like a massive waste of time to me....

That's the great thing about litre bikes. You don't have to ride them to 100% of their potential to enjoy them. Mid range and bottom end power is fantastic, top end punch is unreal. Definitely not a waste of time.

Yeah but you only get to use that fantastic bottom and mid range for 0.4 seconds before you've got to shut the throttle cause you're back at 100km/h

might as well ride a gn250 and accelerate at half the rate for twice as long, that way you might actually feel it. (or an MX5)

Not that we're accelerating dangerously here either, cause that's governed too.

Same for when I get an adventure bike, if I didn't use it off road at least once on a ride I'd feel as though it wasn't used to its full potential.

    Yeah. 100km/h. Yup.

I know on the road I'm not using my thou to 100% of its potential. Does that bother me? Not at all. I know it's there, I can choose to use it or not (ha not 100% of its ability though lol). On the odd occasion I take it out to the track I can have a lot more fun there. On the road it's a flexible bike that does it all (for me). A 600 might do just as much some would say. I disagree, for one how easy are 240+km/h wheelies on 600's? (on the track of course)

no matter what size bike it is ya not gonna ride it to 100% all the time on the road, its like driving a 4x4 on the road, it aint a waste of time cause you can use ya 4x4 mode if needed, not everyone is a track junkie, and chances are if i had more coin id like a track bike also to have some fun with, but for now il do my road riding and make the most of it, but its def not a waste of time

I wasn't saying that pilots face the same challenges as drivers, simply that they need to use similar skills.
As a pilot and a motorcyclist, you are partly correct. However if you compare the instrument panel in an aircraft with the one on your bike they have a totally different emphasis. In an aircraft you can quickly scan your instruments every few minutes or so while generaly keeping a good lookout outside. As I like to teach my students, keep your head out of the office. On a bike, (well certainly most bikes) you must take your eyes off the road to read, not just scan, your instruments.

In an aircraft, you can take your eyes off the road so to speak and fly entirely on instruments. Try that trick on your bike and see how you get on.

In an aircraft, most light aircraft are not capable of breaking the speed limit, on a motorcycle it's difficult to remain below it.
