Good find. Im sure the NZTA hate it when people read their promises and then intend to hold them to it.

    From this webpage:http://www.nzta.govt.nz/consultation...cs/q-and-a.pdf

Its a PDF and is page 5 and about 3 paragraphs down.

I hope this is real because end of this month I would've been on my 6R for 4 months AND I'm over 25. I chose not to do the course for lots of reasons and was quite happy to wait 6 months (I love my FZR). This will p me right off if I can't go for my full in 10 weeks. I DON'T want to wait another 14 months. Mostly as I wanted to be able to ride at night. I work night shift and can finish between 1200-0400 in the morning any day of the week.
Far out, well done. Will be giving them a call myself I reckon and see what they say come Monday. Great find.

    Full license paid AND booked

Ok so heres the down low... Went into AA first thing this morning: "I'd like to pay for my full mc test please (as per what the website says)..." "No problems sir..when would you like to sit your test, we'll book it for you now also..." "EH? Sweeeeet... Anytime after november 30 thanks!" "How does December 4 sound?" "FUCKING AWESOME!!"

So in a nutshell get your asses in there and pay and book and you'll be able to do it when your time is ready, since you are under the old GDLS. At the end of November I will've held my restricted for 6 months, chose not to do the course, for various reasons. I'm stoked coz even though I had no intentions of upsizing my crotch rocket I was still planning on test riding heeeeaps of different bikes in the following months. And now can also ride legally home from work at 0230. DO IT!

This is funny as all fuck. To the cunts who will just miss out on their full license, stiff fuckin shit! There is a clear problem with people inexperienced getting onto big bikes, so the reason for the change in the first place, is why you have to wait. No fuckin argument, suck it up or move to another country to ride a big bike.

To the ones of you who are too big, don't be so fucking lazy. Go and apply for a licence amendment to ride a bigger bike. They hand those out with out much hassle.

Oh good, I'm not getting a big bike, I'm just gonna be out on the roads on other peoples. That's safer.

Surprised you were allowed to even book your restricted, never used to be allowed until you were eligable to test.

I would have said it nicer, but at times Drew's delivery is succinct.... rep on its way

So I'm guessing the AA won't let me book my full for next year in August? :P

I think its also a matter of knowing your own limits, I would like my full because it makes life easier not having to worry about curfews etc however I wouldn't be upgrading from my 250. If people want to ride a big bike they will regardless of what the rules say.

You can (or used to be able to) apply for a work-related license exemption for this sort of situation. Might be worth looking into?

Remember, that GOOD QUALITY TRAINING stays with you forever. It doesn't get sold with your bike, or expire with your rego. It stays with you FOREVER..

Hey Cock Jockey, get off your high horse. I will be test riding bikes from dealers as I'm goin to be looking a duals, tourers, sports and cruisers coz hey guess what? I like fucking bikes! I've been riding for years, marriage made me get a licence, the fzr 250 I own I want to keep and get the most out of it for now as its super tidy and low k's. I booked my FULL moron can't you read? And yes you never used to be allowed untill your time was up, but because of this new law change, they are allowing PRIOR to OCT 1st only. I have done more driving courses than you can poke a stick at, including snow and ice mountain driving and have all the licenses you can get, drive a fuel tanker for a living and you're calling me unsafe? What a self righteous prick. Go fuck your self you ignorant peasant. Not everyone out there is inexperienced like you and gray homo seem to think.

Besides its easy for you to have this attitude, but if the law had changed on you and you went from a couple of months to 14 months bet you would've cried like a little girl.
