    Well if any of the drivers were motorcyclists they'd instinctively counter steer & go the wrong way & run themselves off the road. Because , you know; they aren't motorcycles of course.

    you're both correct, it takes time like learning ANY new vehicle driving technique. If you do not give enough time for the skill mastery to become sub conscious before you 'push it along'? then you are only proving youre an effin numbnuts... It took a fair while to not instinctively counter steer and/or grab the front brake, but then, hang on, bet you dont try to 'grab' the front brake driving a car, do you? Same principal applies,,, you've committed to unconscious memory (cerebellum) just like walking etc the required skill set for the particular vehicle.
