Came across this new service offered by NZ Post - looks like it could possibly be a useful for anyone wanting to order accessories/parts from a supplier in the USA that only ships within the USA:

You meet the nicest people on a Honda...
I've been looking for something like that for ages, and I'm keen to sign up as long as prices are semi reasonable. It might be cheaper to order stuff from eBay if it has free shipping in the USA and then get it sent over here.
A very recent article in PC World NZ covers the NZ Post Service and one offered by another company:
http://pcworld.co.nz/pcworld/pcw.nsf...to-new-zealand
There have been other services around for a while though as well - example I found searching on Google is here:
http://www.buyusa.co.nz/
As you say though all down to semi-reasonable prices. Heavy items may work out to be quite costly due to the freight charges.

Don't forget, cause it's NZ Post, they're make sure you're paying all the custom/duty/charges. Whereas if you buy direct from some places sometimes you don't.
But I'm sure we ALL pay the duty right...![]()
Looks like good value. I've used comgateway at US$25 for the 1st 500g, US$7/500g after that, so NZ post would work out better for small stuff. I didn't see mention of volumetric weight on the site so maybe good for bulky items too?
Cheers
Clint
Unless the declared value is over 400 ( they don't collect it unless the amount is over $60, i.e 15% of $400 )

Fucksake. Hang yourself.
How much is the charge for items over $400 then?
Also, don't forget this is NZ Post. Had more than a couple parcels lost by them and know a few people who would rather hand deliver items themselves than use NZ Post for their business packages.
Seems a bit pricey once the weight starts getting up there too. I guess I won't be buying a new jacket and helmet from the states after all.
agree about NZ Post being poor carriers
So, say you buy something in on a US website and the price is less than $400 NZD, it is duty free. If it's $400 NZD or over, GST is charged at 15% of that, i.e. $60 GST on a $400 item, $120 GST on an $800 item etc.
The other way to do it is if you know someone who lives in the USA, ship it to them and them can send it surface mail if you want to wait more than few weeks. There's no garuantee it won't get stopped and assessed for GST when it gets here though. Removeing original pakaging and labels and describing it as used items and "personal effects" or second=hand gifts may help though.

FREE TRADE DEALS!, get cher free trade deals! Trade Deals, going free! you sir! trade deal for you?
The up to $400 value is only a guide, they will charge you gst plus customs fee on some items under $400 value. If you buy alot of stuff from overseas, and think you can get it past with a couple of parcels value less than $400 each, they keep a running monthly total of your parcels values, and if they add up to over $400(just a guide), they can ping you.
On a side note: I just got a part from China for an R6... It cost me $75 landed in 7 days... (A local shop wanted $200 and a month wait...)..
on the packaging it had
" Value of part" ..$8.00....
Lol
what a ride so far!!!!
$23.00 for a 500g parcel... ouch
