Auckland is bike friendly. Even the parking wardens are quite reasonable at times and let you park on the footpath if you ask them nicely.
And all council-owned carpark buildings provide well-lit bike-only areas.

The crooks that run Tournament and Wilson carparks aren't, though. Maybe they aren't Aucklanders. Aren't they Aussies?

You reckon the bastards would go over the footage to see if you did?
I'd be happy to pay for the 3 hours I was there or earlybird. I just don't feel like paying the full $65
I reckon this [footage] is the only way they caught me. There was no noticed stuck on my bike, even though the letter in the post said there was. $25 of the 65 bucks is the fact that I reduced the ability of Tournament to make money (by 'stealing' a spot) – which I did not. I will dispute it but I'm not too sure how...Disputes tribunal? or their own process (which they probably don't even read anyway).

    Thumbs up

    Write in.
Explain you thought all car park buildings in Dorkland were free for bikes to park in.
Offer to pay their ticket for being there.
    Don't pay the $25.00
Tell em to go jump for that part or prove that you had taken an actual car park.
Never go to tournament ever again, bike, car or tank, unless of course the tank has a useable smooth bore cannon on it.
In which case please Do advise us here on Kb in good time for organising the grand stand.

I don't understand why you didn't just park in the two designated parking spots on the road (one right around the corner on osbourne st) or in the 277 car park that has free mc parking....

I assumed the liquidated damages was for parking too long in a spot, where, if you left earlier, they could sting another biker who could have "illegally" parked there......?

What I do is put the pay and display ticket under the clip of my fuel lid. And I use a full car park up - I'm paying for it. Never had an issue.

Remember, in most cases you are using someone else's private property. The owner sells the user of their property the right to park their vehicle their. It makes absolutely no sense to a private investor to give one class of vehicle free rights.

What they do is note your number plate in their database. If you don't pay, and they ever find your vehicle in one of their managed car parks anywhere it's an instant wheel clamp.
