Thread: GSXR - 750 or 1000?

    GSXR - 750 or 1000?

    OK all you Gixxer 1000 riders out there, if you moved up from a smaller bike - how long did it take to readjust your reflexes etc to the increased urge.
    After taking out a GSXR750K5 and a 1000K4 last weekend - I REALLY liked the 750 - probably because the thing went like mine with another 20 horses and seemed tiny.. But - I found the throttle on the 1000 very sensitive, which was causing a few moments. Im worried that if I forget and ride the 1000 like a 750 in the initial period, I could come unstuck !
    Any advice on this - or should I just say fuck it, go for the 1000 and not worry too much abou it?

    If you REALLY liked the 750, what's wrong with getting it? It's about what you feel happiest on.

    Me is think you is need much lots extra test drive, since it appears to me that you haven't yet been able to pledge your sentiments towards a single steed.

    The 1000 will be infinitely more saleable later on, but then you don't strike me as the type of bloke that changes bikes often.

    I'd say, get the 750, and then let me have a hoon on it. At Master Bike this year, over 3/4 of the testers recorded faster lap times on the 750. It's that much more managable. When released, it also outsold the 1000 3 to 1 in Europe. And those bastards know their sportsbikes.

    I've ridden both back in the U. K. and I would go for the 750 every time, it had a much better feel to it than the thou but I aint knockin the thou it's a great bike and if you wan't that extra straight line speed outa the corners go for it !!! but remember those few extra cc,s burn up extra $$$$$$$$$$$$$ (you can afford it though) Ha Ha
    My carbon footprint stretches to the horizon....but I'm not a bad person....

    end of the day, which ever machine you choose, you'll adjust to it thru regular riding..

    Are you not looking at the K5 1000 SPman? If not, I'd say go for the 750 cos you probably won't need to use the extra power of the K4 1000...but the K5 1000 is another level altogether, so they say.

    Whatever you'll buy I'm sure will give you oodles of endless pleasure...and maybe a sore back over a long journey lol.

    Not the K5 1000 cant afford that one - hell - cant really afford anything, but wtf.
    The 750 felt like a real weapon - light, nimble, with a big top end surge, and I reckon I would be quicker on this one - but I loved the effortless rush of the 1000 - mind you ,it was far harder to keep speeds down to even semi-legal levels

    Spose you'll save yourself 5-7 grand if you don't go with the K5 Thou!

    Have riden a brand new GSXR750 K3 at Phil Turnbills before buying the GSXR1000 K3 Thought the 750 handling felt slightly negative when putting into corners & lacked bottome end . Top end was good but had to be pushed to get there which ment more distance to cover . Where as the GSXR1000 has a neutral turn in & well 150+ at the back wheel & 80 Ftlbs just cann't be over looked . As not been able to stop speeding thats up to you & you only bikes don't speed the rider does . Happy buying as long as its a GSXR I'll let you come back to the NAKI !!

    Second that sensei......throttle action is fortunatley reversible.....on a thou you can nana around on 3000rpm
