    Triumph tank threads

Triumph petrol tank probably dating back to the sixties, "mouth organ" type badges and rubber knee pads. Does anyone have a firm grasp on the thread sizes used for the badges and pads?
Also on the underside, behind the fuel taps, there are two small female threads which would be useful for securing the tank somehow. I have two manuals, and neither cover such detail.
It would be a miracle if the tank was original but I'm hoping that at least something on this bike may be standard.

From memory the ' mouth organ ' tanks have 4 bolts holding the tank down...at least the pre 1960 ones do. When I did mine years ago the PO had bondoed them into the bottom of the tank, I ground out the mess, welded new sleeves in and made up new female fixings by rounding all the flates off a suitable nut, drilling a plate welding the nut in...
Can't say what thread they are but type in the part number on here and see what comes up. http://www.britishspares.com/Cart/Main/Home
most likely cycle thread....um 26 TPI....its weird Whitworth as the spanner size does not refer to the bolt head A/F......
Tank badges could be BA...an electrical thread ( metric I think)...long time since I had a running Triumph....mine are in boxes waiting....
DeMyer's Laws - an argument that consists primarily of rambling quotes isn't worth bothering with.

Most likely BSF, but could be BA or cycle thread....but being a tank mount I'd go for BSF. If it has ears for the front mount maybe a 3TA or 5TA.

Badge threads are 2BA. Mounting threads are most likely 5/16x26 tpi.
