This bike was in th tree about 2 ks from my house ... about half way along a short straight ... dunno how he stuck it there ... it was about 20 feet off the ground ... and nothing obvious to ride up like a ramp ... I rode to work trhat morning and there it was ...

I've just received some figures but they are not broken down enough for me to separate above 600cc and below. I see the November edition of Kiwi Rider, page 47, notes that for 2012 year to date Triumph has overtaken HD for the number one position for over 600cc bikes. Either way HD and Triumph are the two biggest sellers of bikes above 600cc at the moment.

Correct! And as I mentioned...it's an awesome effort by Triumph. I saw the official registration figures...being a licensed motor vehicle salesman.

Yep a pretty good show by Triumph. I've had another look at my figures and the breakdown is there. Triumph ahead by a nose year to date.

In my neck of the woods, most popular on a Sunday morning seems to be Ducati 848/1198/1199/Diavel.
Otherwise, it's Harleys - but you have to have a beard that curls back over your shoulders on the move.......which seems to be most folk round my way.........
