    I thought I'd start something

    motorcycle related...

I was browsing through my library of pictures and came across my Bro-in-Law's Anniversary Heritage Softail. The paint is gorgeous and it occurred to me that some recent OE paint schemes are really, very good. I love the new Lambretta scooters for example and I wondered how many thought that manufacturers of some models had colour schemes that you would never consider altering?

I'm pretty sure all the mud and dirt just jumps up and alters my colour scheme whether I want it to or not

Is that a 1987 75th anniversary model, done in burgundy and slate with gold pin striping?
If it is , it is the same paint job I had on my 1987 1100 Evo Sportster, beautiful combinations of colours that suited the style of the bike really well

I loved the FJ colours as many bikes from the late '60's through to the early '80's had great paint schemes. Absolutely classic!

I will have to check now, I thought it was later than that but my memory is all fudge.

The 750 and 1100 XS range was a good one for paint schemes. I had a 750 Special and loved the style as well as the paint.

People go to great length in many restorations ... to redo the original paint scheme ... even to the extent of recreating the original paint recipe ....

    Quite funny really ...

There are some great modern classic schemes too. I think the Panigale (sp?) is beautiful.
