    Obituary for Mr. Sense

    Obituary for Mr. Sense

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Mr. Common Sense.
Mr. Sense had been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old
he was since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red
    tape.

He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as
knowing when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the
worm and that life isn't always fair. Common Sense lived by simple,
sound financial policies (don't spend more than you earn) and reliable
parenting strategies (adults, not kids, are in charge).

His health began to rapidly deteriorate when well intentioned but
overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a six-year-old
boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens
suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher
fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Mr. Sense declined even further when schools were required to get
parental consent to administer aspirin to a student; but, could not
inform the parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an
    abortion.

Finally, Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments
became contraband; churches became businesses; and criminals received
    better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense finally gave up the ghost after a woman failed to realize
that a steaming cup of coffee was hot, she spilled a bit in her lap,
and was awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust, his
wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason.
He is survived by a stepbrother and stepsister; My Rights and Ima Whiner.
Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If
you still remember him, pass this on; if not, join the majority and do
    nothing. **

    Aint that the truth.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

He was always a broken man, alas, after his wife, Duty, disappeared many years ago

I hate to say it Waylander - but if the USA will be remebered for one thing in ages to come,it's the loss of common sense and all his family. This crap has spread worldwide and even come to backwater New Zealand, the constant bleating on this board is proof of it's coming.Blame the innocent, and then moan about the repercussions.

Long since known that US sociaty will go by way of the old Roman Empire. Decay and fall apart from the inside. Only with the states the fall will be much worse.

..... and, with relentless pressure from vocal minorities, apathy from those elected to guide us and silence [which is interpreted as approbation] from the majority, the definition of what is "reasonable" has become so broad and all-encompassing as to be totally meaningless ...

    We are all to blame.

Mainly because the Roman Empire did not have access to Weapons of Mass Destruction. (They did enough damage with those bloody Ballistae, mind)

    Agreed 100%
    My current examples

Dude prosecuted for stopping the burglary - was on TV

A friend of mine here at work. Entitled to allmanner of help for her (VERY) sick little boy - getting none... understaffing. (WHERE are my taxes going - oh yeah benefits - I remember now)

I'm currently trying to get some 15 year old rip off artist to pay be back. I need to go to Whangarei (from Auckland) because he can't make it down here. So do the other coupld of victims here in Auckland (WTF?!?!?). So we run around after him, and if we can't make it (just like he can't make it)... it's US that loses out by not being represented at the hearing...

Ahh, but you're both Yank bikers - it's that "Bad Boy" image thing and whatnot, "can't let the side down" etc.

Reminds me I must get one of those T-shirts with "I'm a biker, what's your fuckin' excuse?" printed on it...
