Bogan is right, leave it alone, starting and running at idle even fro a few minutes at a time is NOT good for it.
My ol coal burner has sat for the past 5 months waiting for me to get healed up before I throw a leg over again, nearly there, but the temptation is so hard to resist.
I love hearing her run, prefer if it was on the open road with a lot of right wrist cranked in but hey. It'll happen soon enough, meanwhile to let someone you don't know or trust ( yes, even us friendly ol Kb'ers) is a definite no no.
Get good soon and then Go For A Ride.
Every day above ground is a good day!:
...just relax...work on the physiology...have a cup of tea with your bike if you feel the need...
My KDX often goes for months at a time without use (too busy with the camera and keeping my girls racing to ride mine) no problems since '07![]()

As has been said, you are doing more harm than good by starting it like you are.
So in that case, anyone in the Kapiti/Paraparaumu area want to come and spend some afternoons in my garage teaching me about my bike....
Please be nice im a FREAKIN LEARNER! :P
Beers + pizza will be supplied
If u are worried about battery going flat and that is one of reasons for starting it up, buy a battery tender Supercheap have them.
Boys can't ride broken toys.
What the others have said about leaving it for a few months is correct, the R80 I picked up last year had sat for 12 years and after an oil change, new fuel and a carb clean it started on the second kick, my dirt bike KTM200 has sat for a couple of months quite happily too. Drain the tank and carb, remove the battery (charge that once a month) and store it somewhere dry. Push it around once a month so the tyres don't get too flatspotted and you will be good to go when you are ready.
The damage done by just starting it for a short time is that it doesn't get hot enough to drive off any moisture in the oil / exhaust and this causes corrosion, you'll be fine tho, the Forzas are good little bikes.
Get on a bicycle and get your knee working properly, good luck with the healing up!
