Or I would get a modern sports bike 1990's or newer, something that I could take on the track if I so desired so a 400 would be Ideal...

Nah scooters aint proper motorcycles they are scooters thats why I love them so much If you go up next to a boy racer in town with his honda civic with some big exhaust and waste him he will think nothing of it but when your on a "moped" and you thrash his car his mates will never live it up....
I doubt a scoot could drag off a boy racer if they both got off the mark at the same time.

Anyway, each to his own, if I was in your shoes I'd buy this to fulfill my needs as an upgrade. Just make sure you chop off the 'orrible rear mudguard!!

I have done it before and will do it again, My brother car is a little bit faster than my scooter though, maby its the fact it has 500 hp at the wheels?
A 600 would be nice but I dunno, depends if I was gonna race or not If I was then I would get a 400. whats the spec's of a 600 like that?

Bout 90 odd hp. But those CBR's are a very user friendly machine, you'd love it. Anyway, you gotta make your own mind up, and riding the bike first should be a must!

Believe me, after a while you'll want to ride just by yourself, especially at the track!

    I've had a 750 & a thou & i believe it comes down to what You like.
The 750 is absolutely amazing everywhere. The thou is effortless, like having an intravenous adrenalin drip on Your right hand.
I know the 750 can outhandle the thou in the twisties but that's a racing competition mentality. Rider skill being equal it'd be naive to believe the 1000 & the 750 would arrive at the twisties at the same time ready for the 'duel', it's academic. In the real world where You are Your only competition the thou is better. I found the k3 thou better suited to a heavier rider with it's beautiful compliant ride. If it's about the experience & love of roadriding then the thou gets my vote.
good luck in your hunt they both are awesome.
    ..it's another red light nightmare..

Nah, never really made time for it...maybe give it a go one day? The closest I get to racing is doing track days.

You think If someone like me got a cbr600 they would get left behind by all the others on a ride? I like speed but dont push my self when I dont feel comfy expecially on roads I dont know.

    750 v 1000

    SP.

I have a 750K5. I thought I had the made the right choice until a trip down to Holeshots at Takapauna changed all that. A 40 mins ride out and I was hooked. The 1000 K5 does everything better and that is saying something after the 750.

By the way if the your picture is accurate then you will understand that the 1000 can make old man very happy.

Nah you sound like a sensible rider, you wouldn't get left behind, and even if you did someone would wait for you!
