Ahhhh thats why people say bucket racing is so good for improving your riding skills?

If you started riding it at 2yrs of age you probably would be!!

Honestly though, being weaned off a smaller bike/s on to a larger more powerful machine will gain you valuable experience you would otherwise not have. Then there's an individuals natural talent added to the equation, and the amount of riding time is a contributing factor to how good a road rider you will become over time!

So Texmo, are you one of those die-hard *scooter* enthusiasts? Ever gonna upgrade??

Upgrade? what are you trying to say???
I want to get a bike after I have finnished restoring my lambretta and my race bike. I will probly get a sports bike of some description anything from a vfr400 to a GSXR750 nothing any bigger than that but maby an older 1000cc moto-guzzi like that one on trademe right now..... All froth at this point though.
And yes I am a die-hard scooter enthusiasts I have 5 scooters now, a gay jappa 50cc auto, pk50, belladonna, lambretta li150 and a pk125 only 3 go tho no wait my pk50 motor is in bits and my lammy has no seat, wof or rego. so only one bike goes....

    Quite possibly. Too late now.

Nah I live at home and I get the old not under my roof bit with bikes..... I have a friend who said he would store one for me If I got one. Have ridden a few though and would defintly have to get something 400cc or bigger or there is no point in "upgrading"
A good tuned lambretta will do 100mph with ease on 10 inch wheels. If I was to get a bike I wouldnt want to spend over 8grand.

Yer but deciding what I want is the hard part.... I would consider getting two types of bikes, A guzzi like this one http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Mo...n-33101714.htm Add some rear sets, change the seat and tank, new pipes and a few other bits and bobs. that would give me a good bike for going to ma batch or for riding every once in a while.
Or I would get a modern sports bike 1990's or newer, something that I could take on the track if I so desired so a 400 would be Ideal...

Nah scooters aint proper motorcycles they are scooters thats why I love them so much If you go up next to a boy racer in town with his honda civic with some big exhaust and waste him he will think nothing of it but when your on a "moped" and you thrash his car his mates will never live it up....

Looks at it this way ----- you can grow into the 1000....... bet that if you had the 1000 then went back to the 750 you would be disappointed with the power but the 750 would be more 'flickable'...
