    Well I didn't get an 8" extension so it must have been 8 weeks. Oral and written test to get the provisional (learners) and then a practical for the next bit.

    Fuck it was easy back then huh? On your prac the cop followed you round the block in the rain, and then he got stuck at the lights and had to assume you knew what you were doing and gave you your restricted which automatically turned into a full six months later while you were still fifteen!

    I paid the $3 then got the 5 oral & then went back about 2 months later paid another $1 & they gave me my licence no extra riding, cones or any thing

    Yep. That was about it. Down Coquet St and turn right into Severn St then left along Itchen St, left up Thames St and left into Coquet St and back to MOT office. Failed the first time for going over the railway line too fast.

    Sounds like the course I did in Oamaru in 1989.
    He didnt follow me around but said I took about the correct amount of time for the course.

    Yeah, thinking about it now in peak Oamaru traffic you'd do it in 7 or 8 minutes easy enough I guess ... although there is a traffic light in there now at the corner of Thames and Severn Sts.
