I was a young rider (I'm 22 years old). I bought my first bike when I was 19 years old, a Suzuki GN250. Unfortunately It ended up like my left leg, totally wrecked. I and It were hit by a mobility van, all before my 21st birthday.

I learnt some key pointers after that accident which are all too easy to oversee with young (or youngish) riders like ourselves.

    1. Get insurance for both your gear and your bike (Full coverage)
    2. Get defensive riding lessons
    3. Practice riding on the road with a group (Join a local club, get to know experienced riders)
    4. Wear hi viz gear and full body armor (The best you can afford. Never ride in a hoddie, jeans and sneakers or even worse, jandals)

Proven fact...73% of all males in NZ between the ages of 16-20 prefer thier cellphones over sex, its a toss up over the the other 27%.
What chance is there that any one of that 27% couldn't even name a bike model?

yep, 200kmh on GPS at Hampton Downs Nations round, no dodgy reading speedo that read 20 or so high

Pistons last 500kms and a crank is 2000km, start making power from 9000rpm

Weighs 74kg with fuel ready to race

    Found this on youtube
