What year CBR250?
I've done Auckland to Pahiatua (40km away from Palmy) on a '91 MC22 CBR250RR and it wasn't too bad.
Unless you're tall, or an ogre.

Been looking over that LAMS list.
KTM525?
Really?
'Berg TE300?
I'm pickin' there's not much industry input, there.
Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon
I wouldn't bother, you'll lose more money than buying the same thing second hand.
It may be a bit down on power for long trips (some may say, I've ridden worse for long periods of time) and I doubt you would be cramped on it
The Honda VTR250 is a better bike, smoother, more power/torque, easier to use, cheaper to buy, cheap to maintain, look cool etc
Or the Honda Hornet/CB250, seriously good bike, possibly the most reliable 250 you can buy and a nice motor too.
There's some fun to be had there![]()
That's about the decision I came to. I just got a tad drawn in by the "brand new" factor. But yes, as soon as you turn that key, you are losing money. Need to keep it for a good few years to get your moneys worth out of it and (being the speed freak I am) I will want to upgrade from a 250 too soon. Better to start of as you mean to carry on I reckon

Older, but cheap, and a good fit.

Forget the Ducati, you would have more fun on the VTR250,probably worth more when you have finished with it to,least its likely to still be running.
