    Red face First bike?

    Hey guys,
Getting my first bike soon (I'm on my learners) and I've narrowed it down to either a Honda VTR or a CBF, both 250cc. I've already test ridden a Ninja, Hyosung, and a Honda CBR and I think I like the CBF/VTR more. I'll be buying used, and the CBF is 3 years newer than the only VTR I found on trademe and it's cheaper (http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/List...x?id=526669876 vs. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/List...x?id=484295684) I've heard that they are both good bikes, but that the VTR is faster and better. This will only be for commuting into the city and the occasional highway jaunt.
What do you all think? Is there another bike that would be better?
    Thanks

    VTR250 definitely is better...

The 'Baby Ducati Monster' look works for me and the V-Twin engine pulls well. I had the cruiser version (Honda Magna and I'm pretty sure it's the same engine) and that could hit 120kph easily (140kph if level ground and no wind against you ).

Very reliable, no surprises/powerbands, easiy to ride and handle. And you can probably mod the exhaust a bit to make it sound sexy (I did that for my Magna and it sounds awesome!).

The CBF by most accounts is a fairly gutless single. I'd take the VTR as well. You might not think so now, but you'll get bored with the single in an awfully big hurry.

VTR is a far better bike.
You can fit nice tyres to them, they go well enough, they're barely heavier than a CBF.
    And they look cool
