Some pics of my RGV VJ21

    Hey guys,

Just finished restoring my VJ21 after to many years of it sitting neglected in the shed. Took me about 6 months to rebuild it. I started knowing next to nothing but with the help of the manual, the team at rgv250.co.uk and some common dog Ive brought it back to, what I think anyway, is a pretty nice bike. If anyone is interested Ill throw up some pics of the build process and some "holy shit, no wonder 'insert part here' didnt work so good" pics. Dont ask how much it costed.. I kept a decent log and Im to scared to add up the total.. it makes me wake up in cold shivers and my credit card still doesnt talk to me after the raping I gave it.

    Anyway, heres the album: http://imgur.com/a/tFGDq

Not sure of the general opinion of the race replica style fairing but I love it.. my mini schwantz machine. Its damn glorious to have a 2 stroke machine pissing off the neighbours again.

    Cheers.

That's awesome man, very well done. A mint VJ21 is second on my list of bikes I need to have in the shed that I don't already have.

Cheers for the kind words guys, Ill put some pics together of the build in another album for you guys to check out if interested. Only thing that needs to be look at is the suspension, front forks are 'ok', a little soft for my liking and I wouldn't mind having someone know what they're doing take a look at them. Rear shock is good for its age, but designed for a 65Kg Japanese guy, not a 90Kg kiwi haha. Can anyone recommend any suspension techs?

To be fair, I new what I was getting into buying the Chinese fairing and for their price, theyre great. $600 for a full set of painted fairings delivered to the door.. cant argue with that. Most holes lined up fine but some panels definitely needed a bit of swearing, cutting, drilling and adjusting to become acceptable.. and even then Im still not 100% happy about how they sit. Theyre a lot thinner than the OEM jap stuff too, hence why I wanted the heat shielding down by the expansion chambers. But for bang for your buck, it doesnt hurt to give it them a shot.

    Cheers
