    Yeah I got pinged for all of the same things when I got my tank a week ago. Apparently in Jun or July the importing rules got changed and anything over $60 gets gets pinged now

    The I read the calculators answer... it's anything that earns $60 or more in duty and GST charges that gets pinged so if you spend NZ$399 or less you may be ok. I tried a couple of categorys (automotive parts and computers) and got the same answer.
    Reading your post made me think even if I only spent NZ$60 I'd get pinged... gave me a little fright

    Luggage may not be considered a motorcycle part.

    You should have hit Cave Weta up, he makes some bags like that for a very good price in NZ.
