    Suzuki USA files bankruptcy

    http://superbikeplanet.com/2012/Nov/121105suuzkibk.htm

We talked about this a while ago in relation to MotoGP - not making enough money to support it. So the Suzuki fans in USA don't buy enough Suzuki cars huh!

    Long live Honda and Acura.
    Cheers

I wouldnt expect many bikers would like a Suzuki car. One exception my be the Kizashi but try telling yer mates you arrived in a mobile (sounds like) sushi

At leat the bike side is still going to feed the US masses plenty of fast bikes to ride in T shirts and jandals

I love driving my Wifes' Swift. It's not even the "sport" model, but is still a fun little go-cart to fling around.

Obviously not enough of a target market for Suzuki cars in the US then, by that I mean old people that want to drive around really slowly and piss off other road users.
Riding cheap crappy old bikes badly since 1987

The main problem is that the seats are far too small for the average american arse.

With low fuel prices and big pick up trucks so cheap, I wouldn't want to be driving a little car over there either.

Will they still sell the Geo ? Call it a Chev and the Yanks will buy it. Same as the Aussies - put a Holden badge on an Opel or Daewoo and they think it's the real deal.

what you meant to say was, the main problem is that the average Suzuki car is far smaller than the average American

    I do like this tho

Suzuki announced via press release that they intend to stop selling automobiles in the the US.
Suzuki will continue to sell motorcycles and ATVs in the US.

umm... while bikes can be considered exempt from what we've manipulated automobiles to be. ATV's still come under the definition, & given it's original meaning (self mobile) the bikes would be there too.
Wouldn't they have been better just to say Suzuki will stop selling cars???

I think you'd be surprised. Most of us that aren't from the south (and people in the south hardly count as Americans ) realize that "made in America" is essentially a byword for "piece of shit". Quite possibly one of the major reasons that the American car industry is in the absolute shitter.

Only American "cars" that really sell well consistently are the pick up trucks. Surprisingly, they actually tend to be fairly well made and good at what they do.

Anyway, on topic, It isn't surprising that they're going to stop selling cars. They never really attempted to sell cars there in the first place. The suzuki swift is an OK car but fucking useless for the 85% of the country that gets a lot of snow. I certainly wouldn't want to own one in Chicago during winter. You'd get snow drifts taller then the thing. And there's no reason to buy that stupid kizashi thing over the already established range of millions of 4door sedans.

I'd be interested to see how many bikes Suzuki shifts in the states though.
