    Righto...

Not to put too fine a point on it...

I've spoken with MadDuck and we don't need a LOT of people, we need GOOD people.

The projects to be done are many, but there is a fear that lots started will end with lots half done at the end of the day/weekend/whatever... so...

We need a bod in charge of each of the following:
    1) Paving out the front of the house. Currently a bit of a mud bowl...
Need digging tools (spade etc) and something to transport dirt and sand and pavers (i.e. a wheelbarrow)

    Tools needed
    Spade
    Wheelbarrow
    Masonry chisel
    Hammer
    Soft faced hammer
    Broom

    Materials needed
    Pavers
    Fine gravel
    Paver sand

    ===
Laying interlocking pavers is so accessible to the homeowner that you can save on installation costs. First you dig the section you wish to pave to a depth of 2-4" (5-10 cm), depending on the tile's thickness. Then you place a thin layer of gravel and a thicker layer of sand to make the surface level. Set the pavers on top in the planned layout.
    ===

    2) Guttering on the shed (and house) and some plumbing work.
I understand Mr Plumber has been in touch with MadDuck about this already (onya). I'll leave you to be the bod in charge of this if that's ok? I understand there are some "drainage issues" once the water is caught from the shed roof.

Might need some advice on that (Mr Plumber?)

Might need some labourers to help...

    Tools needed
    Hammers
    Jimmy bars
    Screw driver/power drill
    Rags

    Materials
    Guttering
    Downpipe
    PVC Cement
    Jointers
    End Caps
    Downpipe connector
    Galv Clouts or screws

    3) Paint the Kitchen (and little boys/girls room too if there's time)
Crashe - you good for this? MadDuck mentioned she has the paint, and a roller. I have a roller, and drop sheets

Remember people - Paint from the top down... ceiling first, then walls etc

    Tools
    Roller on sticks (ceiling)
    Rollers/brushes/speed brushes
    Cutting brushes (windows)
    Drop sheets
    Roller tray(s)

    Materials
    Ceiling paint
    Window Paint
    Turps
    Sugar Soap (thanks AJ)

=== expertise a la AJ Turbo
... use plenty of sugar soap...
    don't forget to sand !!!!!!
if at all worried use alkd flat on the ceilings in hall/bed/lounge 2 coats.
in kitchen/bath/Wc use: semi-gloss enamel (oil based) on ceilings, walls.
in hallways/bedrooms/lounge... if you are painting the walls. i would use pimented sealer, then 2 X coats of a GOOD low-sheene... dulux 101 (mad duck should know what i mean there...)
    ===

    4) General (cleaning windows, mowing lawns, and waterblasting any/everything clean)

    Tools
    Waterblaster
    Lawn Mower
    Housewashing brush

    Materials
    Fuel for mower
    Detergent for house washing brush

With that lot done I think we can realistically look at other work to be done, but I'm buggered if we get a lot of jobs 1/2 done, and then not finished...

    Beyond that there is...

Mowing lawns, trimming and spraying, cleaning cupboards, and the back deck needs shoring up... shed roof needs waterblasting and possibly painting

Aka - there is PLENTY to do...

Looking for 10 or so people... fit and able to help. Enough to get stuck in, not so many we're tripping over each other.

Will need a volly to run out for lunches etc too if needed, or I could bring the BBQ...

See crashe's post for the full list of stuff to do - I'm just picking off the top 3 or 4 to be done - beyond that we need to pick and choose from her list.

I'll be round on sunday as well. Looking forward to meeting the infamous Trashman.

I have a spade and a hammer, and that's about it, but I'll bring 'em along.

OK - an update (after in depth and undercover investigations...) here we go..

    1) Paving out the front of the house. Currently a bit of a mud bowl...
Need digging tools (spade etc) and something to transport dirt and sand and pavers (i.e. a wheelbarrow)

    Tools needed
    Spade
    Wheelbarrow

    Hammer

    Broom

    Materials needed
    Pavers

    ===

    2) New leg on the back deck (any builders out there - 6Chris6 - do YOU know anyone good???
    * Need a builder for this one - make sure it's done proper, with good material and isn't ever going to rot/break/kill someone - especially if that someone had a few beers in them...

    3) Tidy up the steps to the front deck.
    * Waterblaster

    4) Guttering on gargre is being fixed already - no need to do this... maybe the run off from it though - I understand the drain hole ain't big/deep enough... might need "resizing" if that's humanly possible

    5) Concrete a slope down to the pad at the end of the driveway
    * Need a builder for this one too - some concrete premix and boxing...

    6) Allains Room Painted
    * The usual array of painting stuff - sugar soap to clean it down, a sand around the place, and paint it up.
=== expertise a la AJ Turbo

    7) Kitchen Painted
    * See instructions for Allains room

    8) Clean up around the house
    * Bring rubbish bags, or an incinerator

    9) Wash the house
    * I'm bringing a house washing brush, and hoses

    10) Repair the shed roof (leaking...!)
    * Some "gunge" from the plumbing place (Silastic
    * Need some insights to where it's leaking...

    11) Lawns, hedges, weeds etc
    * Spray, sprayers, mowers, trimmers, fuel and elbow grease

    We need
    Spades (MDU x 1)
    Wheelbarrow
    Masonry chisel
    Hammer
    Big Hammer (MDU)
    Soft faced hammer (MDU)
    Broom
    Paint brushes
    Drop sheets
    Semi gloss enamel
    Premix concrete
    Trowels
    Boxing timber (MDU?)
    Skil Saw (MDU)
Waterblasters (a couple would be awesome!)
    BBQ (MDU bringing)
Food and drink for selves. (each to their own on this one - communal BBQ available)

We need to pick off a number of jobs and GET THEM DONE before picking off the next lot.
Some need starting first (painting and concreting etc) as the material involved take time to cure
If you see (or think of) something else needing to be done, bring the tools - happy to accept more help anytime!
PM Me and or MadDuck on this stuff!
Cheers all - let's see if we can make life a little better for one of our own...

Ok have just delivered the following.

Water blaster - no power extension lead or garden hose, requires a garden hose with a nylex type fitting.

Various Paint - incl a 10 litre of lumbersider for interior walls that is pretty neutral in colour. A 2 litre of enamel which would do trims and is similar to interior wall colour. A bit of X10 which would be good for exterior. This all assumes colours are ok.

Roller tray and a couple of rollers and 3 sleves that I think are ok.
    Various brushes.
    Some sand paper.
    A couple of scrapers.

    Rubber mallot for paving

Dumpy mallot for general smashing etc. Sorry could not find bolster.

    Spade
    Short handle round mouth shovel.

Silicone for roof and silicone gun.
