Christchurch to Dusty Butt, Friday 20 Jan

As per the title.......
For those of you doing the Dusty Butt ride who are staying in Christchurch Thursday night and want to meet up with other DB entrants for a leisurely day ride down to Fairlie register here.
The plan is to meet at the Caltex service station, corner Yaldhurst and Russley roads (near airport) at 0800 for briefing then head away soon after.
Planned route will involve riding up a section of the Waimakariri river recreation area before heading up the Rakaia river thru Glenfalloch Station to Lake Heron Station then on to Mayfield or Mt Sommers for gas and a bite before heading thru the Orari Gorge to Fairlie.
I have spoken to all stations involved and have secured us access but there are tariffs for each station that I will be collecting at the Caltex servo (please bring 2x $10 notes)
The route is reasonably tame and is suitable for two up riding or for loaded up solos.
Because of the numbers of riders entered in the DB this year I may have to limit numbers to 30 odd but will see what sort of response I get back, first in best dressed

WHY THE LIMIT , MATT??
Is it because too many bikes might freak the farmers out?
They would apprietiate the $$$$$ ,I,m shure.
Might pay to ring em again & get thier views??

Are,nt we doing the same ,going over farms with unlimited No,s. on the DUSTY itself???

Being a farmer myself ,and haveing had rides through my farm in the past,No,s. dont worry me,as long as they all go thru in a fairly short timeframe------say 4 hours.

You deserve a few 'DB,s' for organiseing this.
