Most I have tried will not insure the bike as it doesn't have a key start.
those that will want mega bucks for in transit and only theft/fire if it is in my garage at home.

I have just put what the cost would be in a bank account, nearly have enough for a new bike already.

I totally recommend NAC and due to my shitty luck I can tell you that they are good to deal with in the event of a claim (or in my case two) and yes they cover dirt bikes.

i have in the past sold Star Insurance, Protector and Go Lightly dirt/competition bike cover, they are not covered by most contents cover policy's and can be a pain though the main insurance companies, but the specific bike insurance companies all do something,

Havent had to make a claim at all, but NAC were easy to deal with getting insurance for my bike.
$150 for the year, $500 excess, fire, theft and transit.

    NAC just quoted me $250 premium, 10% excess for an $8k value 2010 KTM300 (probably high) and $391 for a new KTM300 @ 14K.
