Urban Ruralites.... Its the 'lite' version of proper rural people.

The two biggest sub tribes are the Horse Owning Classes and Llama Botherers (ie all breeders of 'exotics fall into this class). Generally these are people from town that move to 'The Country' or at least as much of the country that isnt more than 15mins from a dairy...

And the ones more interested in expansive shed/garage developments?

    Not properly classed as ruralites...

More likely to be a sub tribe of boganus shedus

If you're driving a Landy I'll be surprised you can keep the bugger just straddling the centerline. Took me years to get used to their steering.

Shot through their yesterday in the work ute and I firmly believe the 60kph speed limit will cause more crashes,,,,,,,,,,,,,,from complete bloody boredom! Thing is, the crashes on Greys Rd and Paekakariki Hill weren't caused by people doing the existing speed limit anyway. Most were kicking along far faster.

Gonna be 20 mins to the dairy now at 60 km/hr. Pies will be cold by the time you get home. No wonder so many "For Sale" signs on the road now.

Yep confirm that. Followed a car along the road north today at required 60km/hr and every right hand corner, right wheels a good foot or two over the white centre line........lazy?

So tell me this 60 speed limit isn’t revenue gathering?

Went for a drive along the road today with the wife and kids. Before we even got the battle hill we had passed 5 popo cars. Two “hidden” cars and 3 patrolling to see who they could catch out.

On the return trip passed the two still in the same place and 2 on the move.. one heading toward us and one turning on the Greys Road….

What’s it been 2 months since the speed change and they are out in force to get what money they can??

Used to be my favourite bit of road for a wee scratch. When Jimbo had a spill on it we were hanging round for an hour or so waiting for a van to collect his bike and I watched as nearly every single vehicle crossed the centre line on the corner we were at. Blind right hander, wheels a foot or two over the centre line.

I very rarely go over there now.

It will only be a matter of time before the Taka's is limited to 70kph.
