    Best kids bike?

    Hi,

What is a good starter kids bike ? The boys are not even 5 yet but they are telling me they want a motorbike like daddys one!

    Twin boys .. sheesh!!

Still I'm game, told them they have to get better at their peddle bikes, save their pocket money, and then maybe when they are a bit bigger we can take a look :-)

There are some quite tidy GSX-R600s around that should do the trick.

or if your looking for something a bit less road & track biased, my G/F's first ever foray on two wheels was on a PW80. Brilliant wee thing.

Mmmm ... might have to stretch them on the rack for a bit so they can reach the handle bars and foot pegs ... they'd love the bike though

A fun safe place for the 5 year olds would be at rosebank speedway in west Auckland, there's a few 5-15 year old kids on bikes ranging from pw-50 (like my little sisters bike) through to 200cc kids speedway bikes. A lot of my little cousins have all had a blast on the pw-50 and got the hang of it pretty fast.

Come to the track and watch the racing Sunday, I think dad wants to get my little sister a bigger bike so her pw-50 might be up for sale at some point. Plus they could come out to a practice day and try out some racing and try the bike out for size.

That sounds like a fun idea! ... also good incentive to get good behaviour from them as well ;-)

If you fancy a dirty weekend for the whole family check THIS place out. The accommodation has a long way to go to be classed as "rustic" but it's an amazing place to play.

The PW 50 are very good, but depending on how confident your kids are a Suzuki LT50 quad maybe beter starter bike they have a clip that reduce throttle 1/4 and have a kill switch that mum or dad can hold on to untill they (or mum) are a bit more confident

My little sisters pw-50 just has the screw on the throttle, the further you wind it in the less the throttle can open. No remote kill switch though, sounds like a good idea though!
