    Pommie after XR600

    Hi all

Im moving to Christchurch to work on the rebuild around Christmas time and will be looking for a good priced xr 600 to get me out there riding as soon as possible in your amazing country. I don't no if I will upgrade the bike or upgrade to a newer bike as i start to earn money but one thing i do no is that living without a bike whilst the sun shines is no fun. I would like to meet up with a few riders to show me around. Any feedback is very welcome. 35 bikes owned and counting. a lot of shit heaps and some beauties.

Register for Trade me - it's the NZ version of ebay. There will be plenty there. Make sure you get something road registered & with a current warrant of fitness cert, so that you can take advantage of the great adventure riding opportunities here.

XR600s aren't very common here & you'll prob pay top dollar for one in good nick. I have only seen /ridden in one in the last 5 years around here.
For a cheap getaround bike I'd suggest the DR650, KLR650 or similar or DRZ400 if you want a lighter bike.

FFS while you're in Chch please build something that the churchy people can meet & greet in the city so we don't have to keep hear them whinging

There's a Honda NX650 Dominator for sale on www.trademe.co.nz $5.5g looks ok will need wof and rego . Probably the best bike to suit your needs - big tank, fairing, all bolted to the XR650 chassis, the perfect NZ back country adv bike.

great bike although way heavier than the XR6, only 16lt tank and not an XR650 frame the 650 wasnt made till 92.
but yeah she's a pretty tidy example and would complement any ADV garage

I know of a mint 650 Dominator for sale, just had new piston, rings and head rebuilt, new vales etc andf is completely kitted out with windscreen, panier bags, 12v power point, ready to ADV ride, new chain and sprocket....the list goes on..the guy want 4 k for it. Its a blue and white version and I believe its about a 2003 model.

    Life is about having fun.
