South Head last weekend

Hi Guys,

Went for a spin down to the end of Muriwai beach on Saturday.
Made sure i went on low tide. It was the first time i'd done this trip. It was a beautiful sunny day, perfect for a half day trip.

On the way i noted a Land Rover that had been abandened and left for the sea gods.

When i got to the end of the spit the sand was getting pretty soft to the point where the bike bogged to the axles. I spent the next half hour heaving it around to ride back in my tracks. The sand was that soft in places that when i got off the bike i sank to the top of my boots. This was suprising as i tried to stay as close to the waterline as possible.

Just goes to show you should really ride with someone else otherwise the bike might be sacrificed to the sea gods.

Stopped in at Shelley beach on the way home for refreshments at the local cafe.
A very pleasant and tiring day

I stay clear of beaches unless im in a group. Those photos just confirm my fears.

Nah, it only seems to swallow orange bikes. I've never had a problem.
