Oil spill, Wakefield St Wellington (20 March)

Just observed a truck mishap on Wakefield St, opposite James Smith parking building. Looks like a truck has lost hydrolic fluid onto the road under the pedestrian overbridge, the hoist has hit the overbridge wedging the truck in.

Agreed, I did even try to get the pic of the damage to the over-bridge, slight but I guess expensive. I was trying to capture the pool of oil under the cab, sorry about the poor quality. There was also some liquid from the back of the tray but that was a lot less and looked more like water.

For lunch; a trolly bus took out the pedestrian lights at the corner of Manners and Victoria, seems the buses are now chasing pedestrians in Wellington. Lucky it didn't get any, just got its pick-up caught up in the overheads causing traffic congestion for half an hour or so. Makes for exciting riding.

Apart from him being lucky to be alive, I kinda feel for (I am guessing) a fairly young fella.

Helluva huge way to learn from your mistakes! I remember forgeting to close my taillift as a rookie and reversing through the rear window of a Honda.

A schoolmate of mine is a quadrapalegic from driving under a bridge with his hiab extended.

I started putting my hi-ab away, then got side tracked with something, had the second boom folded into the main boom, with the main boom right up in the air. Drove off up the driveway with the builders waving at me, "ah what good bastards", driving down the road then hear something smack the cab, I had ripped a phone wire off the pole. God I was lucky it wasnt a power line. I do miss drivng the trucks, lots of fun adventures.
